Product Description

Fetal calf blood is taken by cardiac puncture at abattoirs, where AQIS inspectors are permanently present. It is collected by highly trained personnel using the most aseptic collection methods possible. The blood is then allowed to clot under controlled conditions. Finally, it is separated by double spun cup centrifugation, then immediately frozen.

Serum is pooled in a sterile pooling tank, and then passes through a series of pharmaceutical grade filters terminating with a 0.45 µm filter. Finally, it is dispensed into customer specified bottles and immediately frozen.

From blood collection through to the bottling of raw sera, Serana manages and documents all processes involved. This certifies full traceability from the animal through to the end product. Full batch records including Certificates of Origin, Certificates of Suitability, Certificates of Analysis and other batch release documents are available to all of our customers.
